*The Wood Strip Sea Kayak Scale Model Kit*
This is more than just another model kit. The building process duplicates in almost every detail the process you would go through to build a full sized boat - right down to applying the fiberglass and epoxy , laminating the cockpit coaming, and fitting the minicell foam seat and backrest. When you've finished you will have an elegant 22" strip-built sea kayak model that you will be proud to display - (the scale is 1:25:1) These are available only while supplies last...
	One of the innovations that makes this model "buildable" is the use of precisely laser cut and etched molds that insure a quick and accurate layout . Plan to take 40 hours to complete this model - there is lot of sanding to do in woodstrip building! And, we don't recommend that anybody under the age of 14 undertake the project.

Each kit contains: laser cut and etched station molds laser cut bow and stern molds bending jigs for making stems strongback and template shop-built spacer for mold spacing basswood planks mahogany planks laminates for stems laminates for cockpit coaming templates for cockpit coaming pins and fasteners to stablize the model and help hold the planking paddle and display stand material West epoxy fiberglass cloth protective gloves for epoxy work mincell foam for seat detailed instructions with photographs deck line material
You will need a few simple tools: - an exacto knife - a fine tooth coping saw blade - a small brush or two for epoxy - straightedge - scissors	You will also need to get some glue, sandpaper, and the finish you want to put on your kayak (urethane works well). You'll also need some odds and ends like cellophane tape and wax that you may already have around the house.

Ozark Kayak Company built several full sized kayaks before moving and selling out. They are now gone. We have left these pictures of these full size wood strip sea kayaks for you to enjoy.	17' "Silver Run"
	Immediately behind the cockpit we build a solid bulkhead epoxied in position. This provides a watertight division in the kayak and makes it easier to bail for self rescue. It also reinforces the deck and provides solid back support for the minicell foam backrest and seat components (not shown) installed in the finished boat. Again these wood strip sea kayaks have been sold.

	Hatches are cut, trimmed and secured following the design ideas of Ted Moores. Our feeling is that the strength and structural integrity of these designs are superior to other choices. Hand building a woodstrip sea kayak is a personally rewarding undertaking for anyone, but the project may be a little overwhelming for someone without woodworking or boatbuilding experience.
